Understanding the FollicAtlas Score

The FollicAtlas Score is an independent assessment framework developed to help people better understand their overall suitability for hair restoration.

Rather than relying on a single factor, the score considers multiple characteristics together to create a balanced assessment.

The score is designed to support informed decision-making.

It is not a medical diagnosis, treatment recommendation or guarantee of results.

Why We Created the FollicAtlas Score

Hair restoration planning is rarely as simple as counting grafts. Long-term success depends on many interacting factors. The FollicAtlas Score was created to organize those factors into a structured framework that is easier to understand. Its purpose is to encourage better questions, better planning and better decisions.

What We Evaluate

The assessment considers multiple categories.

Hair Loss Pattern

Distribution and progression of hair loss.

Donor Area Quality

Availability and long-term sustainability of donor hair.

Hair Characteristics

Hair caliber, texture and visual coverage potential.

Hair Density

Overall donor and recipient density.

Age

Age is considered together with long-term planning.

Hair Loss Stability

Current progression and future risk.

Previous Hair Transplant History

Previous procedures and their potential impact.

Medical Information

Relevant information voluntarily provided by the user.

Long-Term Planning

Future donor preservation and realistic planning.

Goals and Expectations

Whether expectations appear realistic and sustainable.

Each factor contributes to the overall assessment. No single factor determines the final score.

Several important considerations should be evaluated before treatment decisions.

0–40

Suggests that careful assessment and planning are particularly important before considering treatment.

How The Score Is Used

The FollicAtlas Score is only one part of the complete assessment. Your personalized report also considers your written answers and uploaded photographs, reviewed against the same structured framework. The final assessment is never based solely on the numerical score.

What The Score Does Not Do

The FollicAtlas Score does not:

• Diagnose disease

• Recommend surgery

• Predict surgical success

• Guarantee cosmetic outcomes

• Replace medical consultation

Why Two People Can Receive Different Scores

Two people with similar hair loss may receive different scores. Differences in donor quality, previous procedures, long-term planning, age, hair characteristics and individual circumstances all influence the overall assessment. Every report is personalized.

Transparency Matters

We believe users should understand how assessments are performed. For this reason, we openly explain the purpose, strengths and limitations of the FollicAtlas Score. Transparency builds trust.

Sources

The concepts referenced in this methodology are informed by published, peer-reviewed literature on hair restoration candidacy, patient evaluation and donor assessment. These sources relate to the underlying concepts, not to the FollicAtlas Score itself, which is an internal educational framework and has not been clinically validated.
